A 'Pakistan' where Kasab's hanging was celebrated

Days after the execution of Pakistani national Ajmal Amir Kasab for the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, the people of Pakistan are in a celebratory mode.

There is a village in Bihar that bears the same name as India's neighbour, Pakistan, and in that little village, with about 35 households and a total population of about 250, residents are happy that justice has finally been done to a man responsible for so many deaths four years ago.

Pakistan is the name of a village in Singhiya panchayat, Srinagar block, Purnea district, Bihar. It is about 30 km from Purnea town, the district headquarters.

"People in Pakistan not only distributed sweets and burst crackers but also plan to organise a feast soon to celebrate the hanging of the terrorist," said a police officer in Purnea, about 350 km from the state capital... Read More

Driven by poverty, Kasab took to crime and jihad

It was his father's refusal to buy him new clothes on Eid that forced a miffed Ajmal Amir Kasab to quit home, take to crime and then embrace jihad, leading to his death in India.

Until then, the now 25-year-old Kasab -- who was hanged in Pune Wednesday for his role in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack -- led a simple life in an impoverished part of Pakistan's Punjab province.

He belonged to a poor family. His father was a food vendor while a brother was a labourer in Lahore.

It was in 2005 that Kasab decided to quit home after quarrelling with his father who could not provide him new clothes because of poverty.....

....Kasab and Khan tried to make a U-turn. The alert policemen opened fire, killing Khan.

A panicky Kasab pretended as if he was dead. But when assistant sub-inspector Tukaram Omble approached him, Kasab opened fire, killing him.

Omble took five bullets but -- in an act of bravery that made him a posthumous hero -- held on to Kasab's weapon, enabling his colleagues to overpower him...

Web News Reporting Gaining Popularity in Southern India

People of Southern India like to be informed about everything that goes on around them. For accomplishing the same goal, they turn to different new reporting mediums. While print media has dominated the field for a long time, web news reporting is the rising superstar. There are plenty of reasons why web has become the favorite child of the Telugu masses for day to day updates. Let’s highlight some of the most crucial points to understand why the metamorphosis has happened;

Limitless content

Web is laden with content; there are limitless websites that offer variety of content on news, entertainment, sports, general information and what not. If a piece of writing doesn’t convince a reader, one can easily visit another website for additional information. Reading a regional newspaper or magazine doesn’t bring such advantages. Availability of fresh local content is also one of the greatest factors for such viral popularity of web as a source of information.
No cost

While magazine subscriptions and newspaper cost money, information on web comes at no cost at all. Of course one has to get an internet connection for the service but internet serves numerous other purposes too. There is no dearth of reputed web brands that offer precise and accurate information through website platforms. Andhra news for readers interested in local political matters is easily available on web at near about no cost. So, why would anyone invested in magazines that are getting costlier day by day?

Variety of mediums

Internet boasts of text based information, pictures, videos, cartoons, webcasts and a lot more. Nearly all the mediums in which information can be absorbed are available online. Worldwide acceptance and popularity comes naturally with such a variety available on a decent internet package. In the entertainment field too, web has grown by leaps and bounds. To reach Tollywood fans settled in foreign lands, websites like Andhrareporter bring content on new releases, trailers, celebrities and related information. Such websites makes sure of different mediums to please their visitors.

Cost effective For Startups

Maintaining news channels and running dailies require a lot of money; just passion for news reporting is not enough. Web is a cost effective medium for people who are passionate about creating awareness and wish to run news startups. Southern entrepreneurs are fast turning to web to kick start their dream projects. Be it gossip, sports or politics, you can easily find web platforms that are flourishing and expanding their base. Recent Telangana news can also be found easily through such platforms.

Thinking web is only scoured for news by only a small fraction of people can be a big mistake. As more and more jobs demand continuous touch with internet, people are spending more time on web. For entertainment purposes too, internet is getting popular. Tollywood fans especially adore reviews sites and Telugu actress photo gallery.
So, it can be said that besides news reporting, internet is also gaining popularity in Southern India for entertainment purposes. Third world countries boast humungous number of internet users, and considering internet is not a very old phenomena, the growth prospects are very promising.
Andhrareporter is a leading player in the Indian web news reporting business and covers variety of areas like entertainment, local news, cinema and technology. It also brings latest Telugu releases for Southern audience.

BJP's poll poser - how to net Gujarat's Muslim vote

 guj 181112-1
Will Gujarat's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manage the unthinkable and garner Muslim votes when the state goes to the polls next month? As Chief Minister Narendra Modi makes a third bid for power, the BJP at the national and state levels acknowledges the importance of getting the Muslim vote. But party leaders are evasive when asked what was being done to woo the Muslim vote... Reporting by AndhraReporter
